I've always wanted to do a surf trip with Jackson and Shane Dorian. A couple months ago I had a little window to jump on one last surf trip before I needed to stick close to home for our baby's due date. I hit up Jackson and Shane to see if they wanted to head to Mexico for a couple of days to surf. Shane was off doing some coaching at a WSL event, but Jackson was just hanging in California and was fired up to go!
We only had a 3.5 day window to go down, but the forecast looked pretty good so we pulled the trigger. Unfortunately the sand at Barra wasn't very good and the swell sorta underdelivered, but we made the most of it and surfed all day for three days. Jackson was so fired up and super passionate about surfing. We literally talked surfing, surfed, or watched surfing for every waking hour. I hadn't been surfing much at all at home (spring time and boat project) so it was really fun to froth out super hard with Jackson. It was super inspiring to surf with Jackson and just be around his passion for surfing. He has a bad ass work ethic and commitment to the craft of surfing which I'm sure will keep propelling his surf career further and further!
We scored one really fun day at a different wave and Jackson was absolutely ripping. Mini Blanchard came and filmed us and Ryan Perry put this edit together. Thanks to Monster Energy for sending us down on the trip!
