The First Cut is the deepest as they say... In the boat world, it's more like the sawzall is the most espensive tool! HAHA!This video shows the firs couple days of cutting up our 26 foot Anderson for our Re-Power.
Since we are installing a single diesel with a v drive, we had some serious reconfiguring to do. This required demoing out pretty much everything behind the live well as the transmission has to sit where the existing stainless fuel tank was. These first few days documented Demo phase 1.
This is the first time I have demoed a boat, so it felt a bit intimidating cutting into it with the sawzall and skillsaw. I didn't want to do more damage than I needed to so that I didn't make more work for us down the road... So far it seemed to go pretty well. I mostly used the sawzall, skillsaw, and fine tool. for this stage they seemed like the right tools. Feel free to reach out with any questions!
The demo isn't done, but this put a good dent in the cutting that we had to do. Next stop is Jeff Hull's yard where we will keep cutting the boat up and then start grinding!
