As you’ll hear in this episode of the 805 Cold Beer Surf Club, I’ve known Lakey since our elementary school days. We grew up together up here in Santa Barbara, surfing, and competing since we were kids. Lakey has always been an amazing athlete and could have been a professional at countless sports. It’s been really cool to see and be a part of her career and I’m super grateful to know her as a surfer and a friend.
Lakey is an awesome person and has had a great career. She has an incredible work ethic and is honest in things that have been challenging for her as well as working on those weaknesses. This past season she didn’t make the mid year cut, but has been given the wild card for the tour in 2025. I’m excited to see her come back stronger than ever in 2025 and see what she does in her year off.
