The fourth video update from our APCD re-power project! Fortunately we are much further along than the stage that this video shows, but I have been lagging on getting these little updates out.
This was back in may when I brought the boat down to Jeff Hulls yard to start making a big mess! Jeff nicely opened up a grind bay for us and it was time to start going to town. In order to extend the boat the 2 foot we wanted to help better fit the v drive set up, we had to start by removing the transom. After cutting that out, we cut out the existing stringers and aft bulkhead to open our the platform to begin grinding and prepping for our extension, fuel tanks, and engine layout.
I was going in without much knowledge so I was stoked to have Trent's guidance as well as Jeff's! Trent and I went to town this day and got a good chunk of work done, but there is plenty more to be shared!!! The sawzall and skill saw were the tools of choice for this work. The carbide tip blades make a huge difference as well. I was stoked on my tyvek suit, and full face mask set up. I learned that I needed to get a tyvek with a built in hood though!!!!
